Do You Know How Influential You Are on the Net?

Klout

There is a website that measures your influence in the blogosphere. It says that every time you create content or engage, you influence others. It is measured in three ways by using data from social networks:

1.       True reach: How many people you influence
2.       Amplification: How much you influence them. When you post a message, how many people respond to it or spread it further? If people often act upon your content you have a high Amplification score.
3.       Network:  The influence of the people in your True Reach. How often do top influencers share and respond to your content? When they do so, they are increasing your Network score.

It is interesting to find out from the website that my influential topic is Blogging. My Klout Score is 37 on a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being the most influential.  By the way the two top influencers on the topic of blogging are Darren Rowse and Brian Clerk, each with a Klout Score of 70.  According to the website, the average Klout Score is not 50; instead it is around 20. The Score becomes exponentially harder to increase as you move up the scale. For instance, it is much harder to move from a 70 to a 75 than from a 20 to a 25. The Klout Score is updated daily.
