7 Negative Things to Avoid at Work

7 Negative Things to Avoid at Work

“Negativity is cannibalistic. The more you feed it, the bigger and stronger it grows. – Bobby Darnell

Are you suffering from the following negative thoughts and weaknesses?

1. Negative self-image: Do you always think others are talking critically about you behind your back? Erase these self-destructive thoughts from your mind and replace it with good feelings about yourself. It is all in your mind and you decide how you feel about yourself – good or bad, happy or miserable.

2. Unable to control your emotions: Do not allow negative emotions like anger, resentment, and hatred to control you. You will utter the wrong words that you regret later. Manage your emotions to promote healthy relationships with others in the office. Be cheerful and happy at work.

3. Ebb in productivity: Bogged down with too much work in the office? Always prepare a to-do list the night before and prioritize your work by concentrating on the few important tasks of the day. Don’t work non-stop. Do take frequent breaks to clear the clutter in your mind.

4. Lack of confidence: You do not think that you can do the job especially when you get a promotion or given more important assignments. Have trust in yourself because your boss believes that you are suitable for the job and you can get things done.

5. Complaining about your work: Instead of getting angry about the problems encountered daily, look at the problems from a different perspective. Look at them as challenges and see how you can think creatively to solve all of them. In the end, you are a problem solver and you build up your self-confidence.

6. Workaholic: Feeling uneasy when you stop working? Just remember that your “in” box will never be emptied even when you are no longer working there. Life is not just about your job. It is also about looking after your health and family and taking time off to relax and unwind.

7. Low profile: Do not think that you are safe by hiding and burying yourself in your work. It does not work this way. Put your best foot forward and show the boss what you can do for the company. Getting noticed is the only way to promote yourself and keep your job in a company.

Change your thoughts and harness the positive power within you to work happily and successfully.
